The Essential Product FAQs
Are your vitamins FDA approved?
While the FDA does not approve dietary supplements, our manufacturing facility has received Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from NSF International, which assures that dietary supplements are manufactured in compliance with FDA requirements under 21 CFR Part 111. Requirements of the standard include label and formulation review, GMP plant audits, product testing, safety evaluation and ongoing monitoring to ensure continued conformance.
How are your products tested?
byMae’s manufacturing facility conducts testing on all of our products to confirm compatibility and to check for heavy metals, microbes and potency to ensure our products are safe under USP standards. All of our products are manufactured and then third-party tested in an FDA registered and inspected facility.
Are your products non-GMO?
Yes, all of our products are non-GMO.
Do your products contain any of the major allergens?
Our products are vegan, gluten-free and do not contain most major allergens, but some of our products do contain corn, soy, or coconut derivatives – which we share out of full transparency.
You may find that other brands claim they are free of all major allergens, only to later learn their supplement facts contain ingredients, such as coconut MCT oil, which the FDA classifies as a tree nut. Out of an abundance of caution, byMae lists all ingredients along with ingredient sources, not as “proprietary blends” that lack nutritional insight.
The byMae multi+ for littles is formulated without the most common allergens and additives, including GMOs, soy, eggs, dairy, gluten, nuts, shellfish, yeast, artificial flavors, and artificial colors.
The byMae mutli+ for adults is formulated without GMOs, soy, eggs, dairy, gluten, shellfish, yeast, artificial flavors, and artificial colors. Our unique formulation does include:
- Hydrating coconut crystals
- Lutein, an antioxidant from Marigold extract, which contains maltodextrin sourced from corn.
- Isomaltooligosaccharide, most often used for dietary fiber and as a sweetener, is sourced from corn
The byMae prenatal+ AM/PM is formulated without GMOs, soy, eggs, dairy, shellfish, yeast, artificial flavors and artificial colors. Our unique AM formulation includes:
byMae prenatal AM
- Hydrating coconut crystals
- Isomaltooligosaccharide, most often used for dietary fiber and as a sweetener, is sourced from corn
byMae prenatal PM
- Vegan DHA from an algae oil that contains Tocopherol-rich extract derived from soybean sources. Tocopherol, also known as vitamin E, is a fat-soluble antioxidant and nutrient that the body needs in small amounts to stay healthy.
Our manufacturing facility may produce other products that contain those allergens on the same lines as byMae products. However, our suppliers comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
byMae prenatal+ hydration (AM) and sleep support (PM) product FAQs
Why is there powder settling at the bottom of my drink?
That’s the calcium! Calcium is a heavy mineral, which is why so many of our competitors choose to use a small amount or omit it entirely. But we think including calcium is more important than taking the easy route with our formulation. So, if you start to see the calcium building up – just give your bottle a good shake and drink up!
When is the best time to start taking the byMae prenatal+ AM/PM vitamin?
If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or open to the possibility of becoming pregnant, then this is the perfect time to be taking our byMae prenatal+ AM/PM product. Our prenatal is formulated with Folate, which is important in red blood cell formation and for healthy cell growth and function. The nutrient is crucial during early pregnancy to reduce the risk of birth defects of the brain and spine. (citation). As with any new regimen, please consult your doctor or physician before beginning a new product.
Can I take your prenatal+ AM/PM vitamin with other medication?
It is always best to consult with your healthcare provider before beginning a new product regimen.
Will your prenatal+ AM/PM vitamin make me feel nauseated?
While many factors can contribute to nausea during pregnancy, we strongly encourage paying attention to how your body feels when taking a new product. As always, consult with your physician before starting a new product regimen.
Are your products Vegan?
YES! We are thrilled to share that all of our products are Vegan friendly.
byMae multi+ immunity training for littles product FAQs
Does it contain sugar?
Our formula contains less than 1 gram of sugar in each chewable. That’s about the amount of sugar in one large strawberry (which are considered a low sugar fruit!)
We chose to use organic cane sugar vs other sweeteners that are highly processed or have strong aftertastes (which our kids hated during taste tests!)
Why should my little take byMae multi+ for littles?
Daily multivitamins are generally recommended for children who may not get an adequate amount of essential nutrients from their diet alone. Approximately 70% of U.S. children under the age of 11 do not meet their daily requirement for vitamins and nutrients. We are here to help with that!
Benefits also include filling nutrient gaps in the diet, supporting immune function, promoting energy levels, and aiding in overall development during the most crucial growing years.
When is the best time for my child to take byMae multi+ for littles?
It’s often recommended to take multivitamins with a meal to enhance absorption, preferably in the morning or with breakfast to start the day. We suggest having your little take it in the morning with you while you take your byMae multi+!
How often should my child take byMae multi+ for littles?
Just as you would rest your muscles in between workouts, we recommend giving byMae multi+ to your littles for five days and then taking two days off. So Monday-Friday then rest for the weekend and pick back up again on Monday. Read more about immunity training byMae.
What’s the deal with the kid’s packaging? How do I open it?
We’ve partnered with a company that has an amazing patent for a child safe bag. With your package, we include instructions on how to open it and keep it safe from your littles. But we get that it can be tough at first, so we’ve also made a video!
Do the byMae multi+ for littles chewables expire?
Yes, multivitamins have expiration dates. It’s important to check the expiration date and discard any expired supplements to ensure potency and safety.
For what ages is the byMae multi+ immunity training for littles appropriate to serve?
- One tablet for children ages 2-3 years
- Two tablets for children ages 4+
What if my child is not great at chewing completely? Will the chewables be a choking hazard?
- Teach your children to chew thoroughly before swallowing
- Break up the chewable into smaller pieces
- Mix with juice or a smoothie
Why chewables and not gummies?
Gummy vitamins tend to contain less vitamins than chewables because more room is needed for the filler that creates the “gummy” consistency, leaving less space for active ingredients!
Can adults (asking for a friend) take the byMae multi+ for littles?
We get it, we love them, too! Because byMae mutli+ for littles may not contain the recommended nutrients and dosages for adults, we suggest checking out our byMae multi+ for adults!
byMae multi+ immunity training for adults product FAQs
What are the white floaty bits and why does residue sink to the bottom?
That’s the calcium. It naturally separates out, precipitates and settles to the bottom. Just shake it up and keep sipping.
Does it contain sugar?
Yes, but only 2 grams. That’s like 2 strawberries, so drink up!
Also, we chose to use organic cane sugar instead of highly processed sweeteners or ones that have a lingering aftertaste.
Do you offer (or will you offer) more flavors?
Follow us to be the first to know when we do come out with new flavors. For now, we hope you enjoy our vanilla + pineapple + coconut crystals created just for you!
